IDOS director Anna-Katharina Hornidge disussed aspects of modern agriculture

On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, the German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) hosted a discussion in Berlin on 22 September on the topic of “Commitment to modern agriculture in international cooperation: What can politics and business do for sustainability and resilience of food systems?” Together with Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, Svenja Schulze, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, and representatives of other German ministries and leading companies in the German agricultural and food sector, Prof Dr Anna-Katharina Hornidge, Director of the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS), discussed the role of politics and business for sustainable food systems. During the discussion and in exchange with national and international guests, the panellists reflected on the contribution of modern technologies and innovations, the special challenges in the regions of Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa, as well as possibilities for improving risk management in emerging and developing countries..
