It is the second independent quantitative report on the progress of the European Union (EU), the Member States and other European countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which had been adopted by all member states of the United Nations in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report comes at a crucial time in global sustainability and climate policy. The future US administration intends to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement. In addition to the EU, China, Japan, South Korea and other countries have now announced that they will reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by the middle of the century. With its Green Deal and the Next Generation EU plan based on it, the EU wants to embark on the path towards a sustainable future.
